Margarito Melchor Fuentes is a famous Oaxacan wood carver in San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca. In addition to his fine carving he paints his pieces in a detailed meticulous fashion. Margarito was one of the first wood carvers in his village.

This cat was purchased this spring 2024 in Margarito’s family workshop. Signed on the bottom.
