A fun yellow giraffe carved and painted by Jaime Santiago. There are many styles of Oaxacan wooden animals but Modela prefers the primitive style of La Union, Oaxaca. The expressions are always great and they are painted simply but boldly.

Many of the carvers we visit in La Union are part of the Santiago family.

Jaime does not often have pieces available as he carves in his spare time. He is a farmer first— as many of the wood cravers are in La Union, Oaxaca.
