Oaxaca blush ceramic vessel

Oaxaca blush ceramic vessel

$89.00

Pit-fired clay vessel handmade by a female potter in the northern Sierra mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. A stunning object to fill with dried grasses or fresh flowers.

The color is a natural peach tone naturally derived from the local clay. After working the clay into the vessel form, the piece is burnished with a simple tool and then pit-fired. Pit-firing incurs some minor burn marks which we think adds to the beauty of the vase.

Size: 12” high x 7.5” wide x 7.5” deep

Artisan: A third generation potter from the mountains outside of Oaxaca. Modela has been visiting her since 2008.

Use as an object or fill with dried plants and flowers. The piece is not glazed—use a thin insert of glass or plastic filled with water.

NOTE: This piece will be shipped packed in a box within a box making for a large and costly box to ship. Kindly place a new order if you are interested in purchasing other items from our site. Thanks for understanding about the cost of shipping for small businesses.

If you are in the Iowa City area, delivery or pick-up are free options that you can select when purchasing.
