From the workshop of Taller Manos Que Ven in Oaxaca, Mexico is this female vase with a fish. Hand sculpted in the style of indigenous women in Oaxaca with their head braided.

José Garcia is the famous potter patriarch of Taller Manos Que Ven in San Antonino Velasquez, Oaxaca. He has been making ceramics for decades even though he is now blind from glaucoma. His wife, Teresita, his daughter, Sara and son José—along with other extended family members—carry on the creative work in the family workshop with him.

This vase is signed Sara Garcia.

The vase is un-glazed so to keep it as is use only dried flowers or branches in it. Or submerge in water overnight to close the “pores” so it will hold water. for fresh flowers.

Modela has been visiting their home/workshop for over 15 years.
