An object of beauty, this sweet parrot is made of felted sheep wool while the beak and feet are made of paper maché. The expression on the face and the colors blending from yellow to blue are truly stunning artistry at work.

In Oaxaca, I get to accompany a friend who is in charge of gathering artists for an annual folk art show. One day recently we went to Antonio’s home and the parrot walked out the door with me.
