José Garcia is the famous potter patriarch of Taller Manos Que Ven in San Antonino Velasquez, Oaxaca. He has been making ceramics for decades even though he is now blind from glaucoma. His wife, Teresita, his daughter, Sara and son José carry on the creative work in the family taller with him.

This piece is signed José Luis Reyes—José Garcia’s son plus Taller Manos Que Ven.

Modela has been visiting their home/workshop for over 15 years.
