Cotton hot pads appliquéd and embroidered in Oaxaca by Las Hormigas Tantivet—a women’s collective in a small rural village.

Many of the men in this village left to go to the US and the women needed a way to support themselves so they gathered and created this textile collective. The images are about their rural life.

They also make larger textile pieces and many of these are about being a migrant, missing the people who left and their the worries about them.

These hot paads were purchased directly from the makers in their workshop.
