Hand carved and painted large spotted leopard made by Oaxacan wood carver Reynaldo Santiago. The running leopard is painted bright yellow with pink spots—a signature colorful characteristic of Reynaldo’s work.

Reynaldo is part of the extended Santiago family in La Union, Oaxaca that has been carving Oaxacan wood carvings since the 1960s.

Ordered and purchased in October 2026 directly from Reynaldo.

Reynaldo Santiago is a favorite carver in La Union because of his carving but also the geometric shapes he often paints on the bodies. Plus he and his wife are so gracious. Modela visits them twice a year.
