Hand carved and painted wood deer made by Oaxacan wood carver Reynaldo Santiago. The deer is turning its charming head to look at you.

The brown body, red hooves, and turquoise ears are evocative of Reynaldo’s colorful painting.

Reynaldo is part of the extended Santiago family in La Union, Oaxaca that has been carving Oaxacan animals since the 1960s.

Ordered and purchased in October 2026 directly from Reynaldo.

Reynaldo Santiago is a favorite carver in La Union. Plus he and his wife are so gracious. Modela visits them twice a year.
