Maximino Santiago is the creator of this wonderfully carved and painted standing guitar playing rabbit. Made in his workshop in La Union, Oaxaca, Maximino is a decades long carver of notoriety in his rural village and with collectors in the United States.

Maximino, the patriarch of his family, is the master carver. He’s always sitting on a wooden stool working when you visit—usually with a machete or small knife in hand. His wife and children paint the wood carvings.

Purchased directly from Maximino in October 2026.
