Modela first discovered the paper maché artwork of Centro Integración de Tapalpa (CITAC) at a folk art show in 2017 in Guadalajara.

CITAC is an organization whose workshops promote education, art and culture. It supports children, youth, women and people with disabilities.

One of its art programs is "Papelmalecho" where participants create items using only recycled materials, covered with paper and painted.
