Hand carved and painted bright blue deer made by Oaxacan wood carver Reynaldo Santiago. Each deer is so expressive turning it’s head in various positions and always with alert eyes.

Reynaldo is part of the extended Santiago family in La Union, Oaxaca that has been carving alebrijes since the 1960s.

Ordered and purchased this fall. Reynaldo Santiago is a favorite carver in La Union. Plus he and his wife are so gracious. Modela visits them twice a year.
