A striking pair of sterling silver vintage earrings handmade in Oaxaca in the 1940s. The magenta color of the faceted alexandrite gem really pops against the sterling. Both elegant and romantic in style with the very fine filigree handwork. For pierced ears.

The back shows how they secure safely. The catch is different on one earring than the other and one of the ear wires is a little bent. Otherwise, they are in excellent condition.

Provenance: purchased by an antique dealer in Mitla, Oaxaca, Mexico. He said they were his mother’s earrings.
