Found in Oaxaca this fall, this vintage elephant has the unusual colors of dark blue with hot pink. Analine dyes were used to create this matte finish. Some areas of the elephant have been incised with a graphic pattern.

There are a few areas where the paint has been gouged so you can see the wood underneath. Please see photos.

Not sure if it’s an early Santiago piece or an early Jimenez piece.
