Unbleached handwoven cotton blanket with wool whipstitching all along the edges. A soft cream background also has thin geometric lines woven in wool. The wool used in the whipstitching and the geometric lines has been hand dyed with natural dyes by the artisan.

Master artisan weaver Arturo creates his dyes from natural materials such as pericón (marigold), indigo, and cochineal.

Arturo has made many pieces for Modela. He has won awards in Mexico but also in the US. His range of talent about natural dyeing, weaving—both on the pedal loom and the backstrap loom—is immense. He has also exhibited at the International Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe.

Modela has one of these beautiful blankets and loves the weight of the cotton. The textile also softens after washing.

Care: machine wash on delicate in cold water with a mild soap and dry on low.
