Casa Viviana beeswax 17" tapers in magenta, set of 2

Casa Viviana beeswax 17" tapers in magenta, set of 2

$44.00

Casa Viviana in Teotitilan de Valle, Oaxaca is a master workshop creating beeswax candles that have been dyed with natural dyes. Modela has collaborated and purchased many styles over the last decade.

These lovelies are 17” long tapers and the magenta colored wax is created with cochineal. Beautiful ombre shades add to their elegance.

The process is fascinating and laborious. First the yellow blocks of beeswax are melted and thin shells of wax are put in the sun to bleach to white. Then the taper itself is created with many, many hand pourings of hot wax. Finally, the taper is dipped in the hot naturally dyed wax.

Viviana is the matriarch of the family but many family members help with the candles.

Please note that the bottom of this 17” taper measures 1”-1.625” at the bottom.

Set of 2.
