$24.00
Hand formed ceramic crosses made Mexican folk artist Josefina Aguilar. They have a small wire embedded into the clay so they’re easy to hang on the wall.
Josefina Aguilar is the most famous Aguilar family member of Ocotlán de Morelos, a rural town in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Josefina is known for her hand sculpted and painted ceramic pieces depicting women, men, and animals in daily life in Oaxaca. Josefina has been featured in many folk art and Grand Maestros books. Blind now from diabetes, she continues to form the clay pieces while members of her family paint the fired pieces.
