Marisela Gomez is a ceramic artist that lives in Santo Domingo Yanhuitlan, a small Mixtec village that is 1.5 hours north of the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. Marisela's husband, Manuel Reyes is an accomplished artist as well. Both of them are influenced by pre-hispanic art.
The clay for the napkin holder is dug from a local pit and the piece is finished with natural minerals for the pigments.
This piece has green chile peppers for the hair.
Size: 7" wide x 6" high x 6' deep with a 1.25 inch area for the napkins. Due to each piece being original, the sizes are approximate as they vary slightly.
